The European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) is an “association de loi 1901” (non-profit organization, France), currently based in Vienna (Austria), composed of 97 European veterinary schools or faculties, including non-EU establishments (Turkey, Israel).

Its main mission is to guarantee minimum training standard for all veterinarians graduating in Europe.

The last evaluation visit for EnvA took place from 13th to 17th April 2015:



The High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES), formerly AERES, is an independent administrative authority.
In order to carry out its missions, the High Council draws its inspiration from international best practices. With regards to the evaluation criteria, it bases its action on the principles of objectivity, transparency and equal treatment between the structures examined. And with regards to the choice of persons in charge of evaluation, on the principles of scientific expertise at the best international level, neutrality and balance in the representation of themes and opinions.

The HCERES is responsible for:

  • evaluation of trainings and diplomas of higher education institutions or, when appropriate, validation of evaluation procedures carried out by other bodies;
  • ensuring that assessment of higher education and research staff take into account all the tasks assigned to them by the law and their specific statutes;
  • ensuring the valorization of activities spreading scientific, technical and industrial culture within the careers of higher education and research personnel;
  • retrospective evaluation of investment programs and companies ruled by private law receiving public funds for research or higher education.
