The Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort (EnvA) is hosting the 37th General Assembly of The European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE).
Find out more about the programme, the conditions and how to register.
Usually, the EAEVE General Meeting website opens 3 months before the event. Because Paris is a very touristic city, and because this will be a very special time, just before the Olympic Games, we've taken the necessary steps to put the website online much earlier.
The agenda section may undergo some changes, but we already know that the general assembly (GA) will take place on May 30, 2024, the educational day (ED) on the 31st, the gala dinner (DG) on the evening of the 31st and the social day (SD) on June 1.
Please note that you can only make a single booking, which may include only the GA/ED/GD package or a combination of GA/ED/GD and social day.
We therefore strongly recommend that you decide whether you want to take part in the social day before booking.
The most urgent thing is to book your hotel in order to benefit from a reasonable price, a cancellation option being preferable.

Saturday, June 1st - Social Day (optional): A Day in Versailles
Who does not know Versailles, the place where the last three kings of France reigned? Louis XIV decided in 1660 to distance himself from Paris, a city where revolutions were quick to spring up, and to transform his small hunting lodge into a huge residence housing thousands of courtiers and embodying royal absolutism. His reign came to an end in 1715, just as the palace was nearing completion. Louis XV and Louis XVI succeeded him, the latter succumbing to the French Revolution. We have planned a particularly special tour of this palace. This event is organised a long time in advance so we may have to alter some aspects of its planning. Because we are veterinarians, the tour will begin in the morning with a visit of the 'Grandes Ecuries', where in the past the saddle horses were stabled and is the present day site of the carriage museum. The group will then have the privilege of entering the 'Petites Ecuries', devoted to draft horses and which today houses a collection of plaster casts of emblematic sculptures curated by the French museums. The group will have lunch in the vegetable garden of the castle, where the fruit and vegetables served at the king's table were grown. Today, this garden is managed by the Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Paysage, a school of the French Ministry of Agriculture, as is the veterinary school. We hope that the weather will be kind to us... or that we will be able to find shelter! The afternoon will begin with a visit that few have had the privilege of taking: a tour of the kings' private apartments. Versailles was conceived as a theatre whose sole subject was the royal family. The 'galerie des glaces', the ceremonial rooms, the gardens, everything served the image of royal power, shining like the sun. The last two kings of France had little taste for such splendour and they would escape to small apartments behind the solemn spaces to live a more normal life. Given the narrowness of these spaces, the group will be divided into sub-groups of 25 people, each led by a guide. >>> Château de Versailles Website At the end of the tour, the visitors will be taken to the public areas, where they can tour the castle at their leisure. If they wish, the most courageous visitors can wander through the immense gardens. The return journey will be made individually by train.
Please note! Only one accompanying person per delegate attending the general meeting.
ACCOMPANYING PERSONS
Paris is a city with a particularly rich heritage. It takes several weeks to explore it in depth. We have not planned a program for accompanying persons, who can visit the French capital's monuments and museums at their leisure.
We simply propose participation in the gala dinner, by reservation, and in the social day, also by reservation.
Reservations for a person accompanying a delegate have to be made the same time as those for the delegate.
